چکیده
Nicotine addiction leads to in a huge burden on public health and the economy worldwide. Resveratrol (3,5,4’-tetrahydroxystilbene) is most well-known polyphenolic stilbenoid. was shown exhibit positive effects numerous mechanisms that are important for drug substance addiction. Thus, this study aimed examine effect of resveratrol nicotine Intraperitoneal (i.p.) treatment with (0.5 mg/kg) significantly enhanced time spent nicotine-paired compartment. (50 75 mg/kg, i.p.) varenicline (2 co-administered during 3-day conditioning period effectively diminished acquisition nicotine-induced conditioned place preference (CPP). On other hand, administration decreased low dose (0.1 reinstatement. The results suggest inhibit reinstatement nicotine’s reward properties. displayed similar CPP phases as obtained reference varenicline. In conclusion, could be beneficial an adjuvant pharmacotherapy addiction; however, more investigation needed completely explain property.

Nicotine-induced conditioned place preference and conditioned place aversion in mice.
The motivational effects of nicotine were examined in mice using an unbiased place conditioning design. Swiss-Webster mice received four 15-min parings of a tactile stimulus with different doses of nicotine (0.25-2.0 mg/kg, IP). A different tactile stimulus was paired with saline injections. During conditioning, nicotine produced locomotor depression at the 2.0-mg/kg dose, with the greatest red...
متن کاملGenetic background influences nicotine-induced conditioned place preference and place aversion in mice.
This study was designed to determine whether genetic differences influence the rewarding effects of nicotine in 4 inbred strains of mice (DBA/2, BALB/c, C3H, and C57BL/6). Nicotine (subcutaneous) induced a place preference in DBA/2 and BALB/c mice but a place aversion in C57BL/6 mice. A low dose of nicotine produced a significant place preference, whereas a high dose of nicotine produced place ...
متن کاملThe role of nitric oxide in conditioned place preference induced by morphine in male mice
The involvement of nitric oxide (NO) in the reinforcing properties of opioids was studied by examining the effect of a NO precursor (L-arginine) and NO synthase inhibitor (L-nitro-amino-methyl-ester, L-NAME) on the conditioned place preference (CPP) induced by morphine. The experiment was performed on male albino Swiss- White mice (25 ± 5 g). L-arginine in doses of 100, 200 and 500 mg/kg (i.p...
متن کاملEffects of berberine on acquisition and reinstatement of morphine-induced conditioned place preference in mice
Objective: It has been shown that berberine, a major component of Berberis vulgaris extract, modulates the activity of several neurotransmitter systems including dopamine (Da) and N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) contributing to rewarding and reinforcing effects of morphine. Drug craving and relapsing even after a long time of abstinence therapy are the most important problems of addiction. In the p...
متن کاملAscorbic acid antagonizes nicotine-induced place preference and behavioral sensitization in female mice
Introduction: The influence of ascorbic acid on the nicotine-induced conditioned place preference (CPP) and behavioral sensitization was investigated in the present study. Methods: In a pilot study, place conditioning and locomotor activity were investigated after nicotine (0.25, 0.5, 0.75, 1, 1.5 and 2 mg/kg) or ascorbic acid (1, 10, 100 and 1000 mg/kg) administration. Different doses of a...
